A man in a gray jacket and black pants is standing outside in the rain, wearing a white cap with the Ping logo, on a golf course with green trees in the background.

Every session starts with the same question: which variable is currently limiting your performance?

  1. Define the problem — not a swing fault, a performance problem.

  2. Form a hypothesis — which part of your game is most likely limiting you right now.

  3. Investigate — gather evidence before assuming anything.

  4. Diagnose — is this a development problem (you don't yet have the ability) or an expression problem (you have it, but can't access it consistently)?

  5. Match the intervention — to the actual cause, not a default.

  6. Retest — improvement is an ongoing investigation, not a one-off fix.
